Horse guards Parade.

This was the site of the tilt yard of the old Whitehall Palace, where tournaments (including jousting) were held in the time of Henry VIII. It was also the scene of annual celebrations of the birthday of Queen Elizabeth I.

Horse Guards Parade is the ceremonial parade ground in St James's Park and is the scene of Trooping the Colour on the King's official birthday.

The main current building with the clock was built on the orders of king George II and is still the formal entrance to St. James park and is home to the house gold cavalry museum.
